Introduction
The GEMS Payroll/Personnel Application software is
designed to meet the organizational requirements of both
Municipalities, Boards of Education and Multi-District
associations.
Features
- The Base Payroll module allows maintenance of employee
information using on-line interactive methods including
Pop-Up Search Windows. Data including insurance, EEO and
occupation codes, bargaining units, rank, degree, step
and personal statistics are stored along with information
required for the processing of the payroll.
- This application allows client definitions for an
unlimited number of earnings and deductions. These
transactions feature a very high level of user options
such as amounts, multiple percentages, cut off dates,
contract totals and multiple limits. The user can also
define a variety of payroll cycles within each payroll
type.
- Payroll processing allows the flexible features of
earnings, deduction and account number overrides,
multiple checks, prepaid checks, voided checks and
retroactive payrolls. Net payroll and support checks,
earnings and deduction registers, labor distribution
reports and journal entries provide a full audit trail of
all transaction procedures.
- Tracking and reporting of monthly, quarterly, calendar
and fiscal earnings and deductions are included with this
module.
- A Direct Deposit module is available as an option. This
module processes the data after completion of the payroll
and produces files that can be transmitted to the
organization servicing your installation.
- A Payroll Encumbering module is available on an optional
basis. This module, which is widely used by school
departments, will automatically encumber annual contract
amounts for each employee and generate the reverse
transactions at the time of each payroll cycle.
- A comprehensive On-line Employee Inquiry Screen provides
all personal data, earning and deduction information, and
detail for pay checks that have been entered in the
system.
- This module includes Magnetic Media W2 and 1099
processing along with EEO and Department of Employment
Security reports.
- A complete Check Reconciliation program is included as
part of the basic payroll package.
- The Payroll Application fully integrates with the General
Ledger/Fund Accounting System and various adhoc reporting
and query products
- Multiple user defined payroll cycles and groups.
